The initial consultation
Dana's initial meeting is a free 30-minute consultation. You leave with a real read on the legal issues in your matter, the likely path forward, and what representation would look like.
Charging for the initial meeting is deliberate. It keeps Dana's calendar focused on clients who are ready to make decisions, and it means the session itself is substantive legal advice — not a sales call.
Retainer and hourly billing
Family law files are billed hourly against a retainer. You'll receive a written engagement letter setting out Dana's hourly rate, the initial retainer amount and how disbursements — court fees, expert reports, process servers, filing costs — are handled. Detailed invoices are issued monthly so there are no surprises.
What Dana takes on
Contested divorce, complex and high-net-worth property division, spousal and child support disputes, contested parenting and decision-making, protection orders, cohabitation and separation agreements, and international child relocation matters.
